This is a translation of the Swedish privacy policy, provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Swedish version is the one that applies.
Rutis has no accounts, no ads and no usage analytics. The app collects nothing about you as a person, and your location is never sent to us.
Rutis asks for your location only when you tap the location button on the map — never at launch and never in the background.
The location is used solely to centre the map where you are. It is never sent to us, not stored, and not used for anything else. If you decline, the rest of the app works exactly as usual. You can withdraw the permission at any time under Settings → Rutis → Location.
The map itself is drawn by Mapbox, so which area you are looking at does reach their servers — without that there are no map tiles to fetch. With the map centred on you, that is roughly where you are. Mapbox’s own collection of usage and location statistics, telemetry, is switched off in Rutis.
When you search for an address or a place, the search text is sent to the Mapbox Search Box API, which returns suggestions and coordinates. The centre of the map goes with it, as a hint for where the results should be ranked. Mapbox may log requests under its own privacy policy.
Your recent searches are stored locally on your phone so they can be shown when you open the search field again. They never leave the device and are deleted when you tap “Clear” or uninstall the app.
Information about parking spaces, rates and time rules is fetched through our own server from Göteborgs Stad, the Stockholm city traffic office and Stockholms Stads Parkering. No information about you is included in those requests — the server knows which city is being asked about, not who is asking.
If you send feedback through the app, the following is processed:
The email is sent via Resend. Messages are kept for as long as they are needed to deal with your comment.
If you would rather not leave any contact details — leave the email field empty. Then there is nothing linking the message to you.
| Service | Role | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Mapbox | Maps and search | USA/EU |
| Vercel | Our proxy server | EU (Stockholm) |
| Upstash | Cache and rate limiting | EU |
| Resend | Sending feedback email | USA |
Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data concerning you. Since Rutis has no accounts, the only thing that could be stored is a feedback message you sent yourself.
Contact info@rutis.se and we will handle it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY.
Rutis is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data about children.
If the policy is updated, the date at the top changes. Material changes are announced in the app.
